The 38-storey North Tower of the $520 million Central Exchange precinct reached its full height of 162 metres this week, marking a major milestone for Riverside City’s largest mixed-use development.
More than 400 workers, clients and community members gathered on site for a traditional topping-out ceremony, as the final concrete pour was completed on the tower’s roof level. The tower will house 26 floors of premium office space and 12 floors of apartments.

Two towers, one precinct
Central Exchange will combine two towers above a new transport interchange, connecting rail, bus and light rail services for an estimated 45,000 daily commuters. The precinct includes:
- 64,000 m² of 6 Star Green Star office space
- 220 apartments across the upper levels of both towers
- A 180-room lifestyle hotel with rooftop bar
- Two levels of retail and dining around a public laneway network
What happens next
Façade installation on the North Tower is now 60% complete, with services fit-out progressing from the lower levels. The South Tower is expected to top out in early 2027, with the full precinct opening in late 2027.
